Everyone had outstanding applications. It was very difficult to choose just one winner. The recipient of this years scholarship will be announced in May at the Frisco Education Foundation's annual scholarship awards ceremony.
Here is a letter from last years recipient Satoshi Endo:
Dear Frisco A&M Club, Howdy! My name is Satoshi Endo and I was the recent recipient of the Frisco A&M scholarship. First I would like to thank everyone at Frisco A&M Club for making this scholarship possible for me. It had been an amazing semester and I am thankful for the Aggies in Frisco for lessening the burden of attending college. Second, Christmas and New Year is around the corner and I would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Finally, I would like to relate to everyone my first semester in Aggieland. My semester started with fish camp, and at first I was taken aback by all the traditions and yells… but by the end of fish camp, I was pumped to start my college life! I learned all the yells and traditions that is Texas A&M. First day of classes was fun trying to navigate the campus to find my classes, but luckily I am living at Hart Hall (Central Side!!!) so everything is within easy walking distance from me. I’ve learned quickly that not only does the school have traditions and yells, even my dorm has them as well! People have said that I do not “fit” into the Aggie mold but after the first week I was as red ass as any other Aggie can be. Classes here were great; I took 16 hours this past semester. Because of all my transfer credit from AP exams, I was classified a sophomore coming in. Aside from taking core classes, I was able to take a business class since I am a business major. The class required us to work in team for the entire semester and complete 100 hours of service for a chosen non-profit organization. It simulated a real-life environment in which business groups have to work together to overcome difficulties despite differences in ideas and personalities and it was a great class. Next semester will be harder and I will be taking 16 credit hours as well and loading up on management and accounting, but I will be looking forward to a challenge! After settling in to a weekly routine of going to classes, studying, sbisa-ing, partying, and repeat, I joined a few student associations (namely Chinese Student Association). Through social events and student organizations, I have probably made more friends in the first semester of college than my whole time in high school. Everyone is very friendly and open to all sorts of different ideas and ways of thinking (A&M is conservative, but who says conservatives aren’t open to others?). I’ve volunteered concessions at the first few football games and it felt great to be doing something worthwhile and raising money for organizations. Once Big 12 games rolled around, I am always in the third deck with friends cheering on my Aggies! We did well in most of our home games, and on Thanksgiving Day I was with my friends and my sister cheering on for the Aggies in the annual game against t.u. It was a hard fought game but we lost in the end… that was hard to take. There’s always next year for our young team! I can’t believe the first semester is over already. It feels as if I lived there for my whole life and it’s weird to be home where I don’t see everyone wearing maroon or saying “Howdy!” I am just enjoying the break, working, and looking forward to an even better semester! Thank you all for making the scholarship possible and I am truly proud to be an Aggie. Thanks again and gig ‘em!

As the 2007 Frisco A&M Club scholarship recipient, I wanted to thank you all for your continued support of me during my college experience. I am having an awesome time here! Last semester I received a 3.7 gpa, which is my best so far. I am going to be a junior this fall. I am still a business major, and have officially declared myself in the Accounting school. As of right now, I plan to apply for the PPA (professional program of accounting) program at the end of this fall. It is a 5 year program in Mays Business School that will allow me to get my undergraduate degree in accounting and a masters in the school of my choice. If all goes to plan, i hope to receive my masters in marketing. I am still in love with aggieland! I have continued my membership in Greek Life as a Kappa Kappa Gamma. This year I applied and was selected to be a "Rho Gamma," which is basically rush counselor for the incoming freshman. I will stay very busy with this job over the next two weeks! We start classes on the 31st, and I cannot wait (mostly because that means football season is here :) I am still so thankful that you all chose me as your scholarship recipient. I hope to make it out to some of your events whenever I am home in Frisco. I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer! Gig 'Em!
Sincerely,
