Howdy!

2011 has been a great year for Texas A&M.  Three-peat National Champs in Track, Women’s BBall Champs, SEC, and not small by any means; largest freshman class and student enrollment ever.

One of those Fish is the club’s 2011 Scholarship winner Eric Wombolt.  Eric, who plans to become a doctor, graduated from Centennial, was a member of the Debate team and National Honor Society.  He was also in the Civilian Air Patrol and an Eagle Scout.

Eric had this to say about winning the FAMC Scholarship, “I know there were many deserving applicants, so I am extremely appreciative to have been selected for this particular scholarship. The fact that many donors have placed their trust in my future will not be taken for granted. This scholarship will help with more than paying down some of the costs; it will also act as a reminder that others are invested in my college education.  Therefore, I will work extremely hard to do my absolute best while attending Texas A&M.”

Our main source for funding scholarships like Eric’s is memberships.  Individual memberships are $30, while joint/family memberships are $40, and any additional amount you choose to give would be very helpful.  Our goal this year is to get 50 new members to join the FAMC, which would help fund both a past recipient, and a new scholarship.  With your support, we can continue to invest in the education of quality Aggies, just like Eric.

The club is eagerly working on plans for 2012.  Events like a spring family picnic, and more game watching events (since the SEC move means all the games will be televised!).  We are also looking for ideas on what the club can do for you, so please pass them along.

Myself ,and all of the FAMC leadership wants to thank you for all of your support this past year, and we wish you an even better 2012.  Thanks and gig’em!
